About John Campione DC…

Dr. John Campione is native to Lisle, Illinois where he has resided for 17 years and is an alumnus of Saint Francis High School in Wheaton.  Having been afflicted with severe asthma as a child, he realizes the importance of staying active and healthy for whole-body wellness.  Dr. Campione is a very active individual, enjoying all forms of fitness including weight training, running and has a particular passion for the sport of baseball.

When Dr. Campione was in college, he accompanied his mother to physical therapy for painful plantar fasciitis pain in her left foot.  As he watched the therapists assist his mom, he started becoming interested in rehabilitation as a way to help the body heal naturally.  He next changed his major to exercise physiology at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV and started investigating careers in physical therapy and chiropractic.

Although there are many similarities behind the professions of physical therapy and chiropractic, it was the ability to directly access patients and offer them a wider scope of therapies that helped Dr. Campione decide that becoming a chiropractic physician was for him.  Instead of waiting for a referral, as a Doctor of Chiropractic he could give the patient relief quickly using manipulation, exercise therapy, acupuncture or even nutritional therapies without waiting for another doctors visit.

After deciding to pursue a career in chiropractic, Dr. Campione started classes at the National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, IL where he earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree.  Currently, Dr. Campione is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association and sat for the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist examination in June 2010.
