“Should I take Advil to reduce the inflammation so I can get better?”
Every day, I get asked about over-the-counter pain and NSAID medications by patients. For years, pill manufacturers and doctors have been advising us to just take a few pills to see if the problem goes away. Instead of the problem going away, we developed BIGGER problems like liver/kidney failure, GI bleeds, infertility and heart attacks. Meanwhile, we never removed the original cause of our pain!
New research reveals that use of NSAIDs actually can SLOW DOWN the healing process (Ugh!) and also expose you to significant health risks. Instead of popping a pill, start with natural treatments like taking a walk, stretching, exercising, eating more vegetables, staying hydrated and getting sleep. If you still have symptoms after a couple of days, see your chiropractor or massage therapist for help. We’re the masters at determining the cause of your pain and getting your body back in balance without harmful medications!
