70% of Americans will suffer from shoulder pain at some time in their life. Just because it’s a common problem — doesn’t mean you have to live with it!
This week’s video is all about the anatomy of the shoulder and how a healthy shoulder joint requires balanced movement between three different joints. If one of those joints is moving too much or not enough, dysfunction and then pain starts to set in.
Try the simple at-home shoulder screening test I show in this video on yourself to see if your joints are moving correctly. In fact, this is a great video to share with friends or family who are concerned about their shoulder health.
We used to think that many common shoulder problems including impingement syndrome, tendonitis or rotator cuff tears required injections or surgery to get better. New research shows that conservative care, such as the services we provide at our office, provide more relief and longer lasting results than more invasive approaches.
Keep tuned over the next four weeks as I will be sharing additional videos on shoulder health.
The video next week will be a description of common shoulder conditions. The following week you will be able to watch me do chiropractic adjustments for shoulder pain and the final video will show you three exercises that you can use to prevent shoulder injuries.
