Are you tired of having a "mommy pooch?"

Although diastasis recti is common, it doesn't have to be a permanent scar of pregnancy.

Dr. Erin Ducat is a triple-board certified chiropractic physician and pelvic floor therapist who has helped women in the Bloomingdale IL area, just like you, get their "pre-kids body" through proven, non-surgical treatment.

I love working with Dr Ducat. I’m in PT for diastasis recti, and unlike other DR programs I’ve been through, she checks my progress each week, and checks my alignment in the exercises, and makes modifications if necessary. This is not a cookie cutter program. She tailors each assignment to my specific needs and abilities.

How To Measure Your Diastasis Recti At Home

Over 32% of women are still experiencing symptoms of diastasis recti a year after their baby is born.

Diastasis recti abdominus (DRA) occurs when the connective tissue between the two sides of your rectus abdominus muscle (the "six pack" muscle) separate, causing an unsightly protrusion (or mommy pooch!) along your abdomen.

It's normal for you to have DRA during your pregnancy as your body stretches to accomodate your baby, but it should be gradually close postpartum.  By 6 months after baby is born, your DRA should be less than 2 fingers wide.

Diastasis Recti makes life difficult for moms.

Abdominal separation makes it impossible to strengthen postpartum, leading to back pain, muscle aches, difficulty breathing and even issues with your pelvic floor.  In fact, 66% of women with DRA also suffer from urinary leakage or pelvic prolapse due to the compromised state of their core.

The good news is that there is hope!  Research shows that targeted exercises designed to help you re-learn how to stabilize your core can help close the gap and improve quality of life within just 8 weeks of starting treatment.

Dr. Ducat helped me regain my strength after having pelvic floor issues after my last birth...

...I would definitely recommend her both as a chiropractor and pelvic floor therapist.

What are you waiting for?

It's time to fix your diastasis recti for good.

During your initial visit, Dr. Ducat will thoroughly discuss your symptoms and pinpoint the cause of your DRA.  Based on your unique presentation, she will customize a therapy plan designed to help you recover quickly.   Most women are empowered with exercises to help close their DRA after seeing Dr. Ducat for the first time!

Most women see the best results with follow up visits spaced about once a week and your care is always one-on-one with Dr. Ducat in a private room.  She will help you master how to close your DRA so you can be confident in how to complete your strengthening exercises.

In a few visits, you should start to see some real progress in how you look and feel.  Dr. Ducat will re-assess your strength and see if your your goals are met.  Once you are happy with how well your DRA closed, she will help design a long-term self care plan to keep your belly flat.
